Kashmir Rose Giving Tuesday Event With Microsoft at Tyson's Corner
December 8, 2015
The Kashmir Rose event "Wrap your Holiday Spirit in Kashmir Art" took place at the Tyson's Corner Microsoft store for Giving Tuesday. Information on Kashmir Rose was displayed to the public. During the event the Kashmir Rose team enligthened the many shoppers at the Tysons Corner Mall abourt the art history of Kashmir shawls and how our projects not only give back to the Artisans, but provide eco-friendly handcrafted products worldwide. Kashmir Rose products were exhibited at the Microsoft Store entrance and theater room. Princess Aliyah demonstrated artistic styles of how authentic Kashmir Rose shawls and scarves can be wore in modern and versitile ways - such as shirts, dresses and even headwear.
We also had the privilege to interview Andrea Beck, the Microsoft Community Relations Manager, who made this event possible. She answered questions regarding Microsoft's philosophy to give back and the importance of Giving Tuesday. She also explained how Kashmir Rose benefits the many projects of Kashmir World Foundation. Allow proceeds from the sale of Kashmir Rose products provide the funding necessary for KwF to provide education and protection of endangered species. Microsoft also hosts the KwF's project: DaVinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop through out the year. Andrea is an amazing and down to earth person who has helped build a stong partnership with Kashmir World Foundation's mission to integrate art, science and technology.
And here are some behind the scenes of Princess Aliyah, Creative Director Kashmir Rose and Stewart Davidson, KwF Videographer during the interview with Andrea Beck.
